Although Food Day is Wednesday October 24, 2012; James Madison University is celebrating Food Day throughout the week of October 24 and the month of October. We are hosting events throughout the month that celebrate, educate and reflect on our food communities. We have decided to align each day of the Food Day week with one of Food Day’s five priorities. The priorities and their associated day are:
- promote safer, healthier diets (Monday October 22)
- support sustainable and organic farms (Tuesday October 23)
- reduce hunger (Wednesday October 24)
- reform factory farms to protect the environment and animals (Thursday October 25)
- support fair working conditions for food and farm workers (Friday October 26).
Please stay tuned as more events and details are posted.
